Cannabis Cooking Oil
Cannabis cooking oil is one of the main ingredients that you will use in many marijuana infused recipes. Not only does cannabis infused cooking oil have many uses, but it also lasts a long time if stored properly in a cool-dark area, preferably in an amber-glass bottle.
- 2 cups extra virgin olive oil
- 2 ounces (56 grams) of quality grass
In a heavy saucepan, warm the olive oil at medium heat until hot, being careful to ensure that the oil does not boil. Once hot, lower the heat and keep the oil at a steady temperature.
Now add your cannabis to the pan, stirring it every quarter hour for two hours. If at any time your oil begins to boil, simply lift the pan from its heat source and adjust the temperature accordingly.
After two hours, remove the pan from the heat and let cool for half an hour before straining. We suggest straining the oil at least twice.
Notes from Cannabis Chris:
* This is a very simple and basic recipe for cannabis infused cooking oil. Many different oils are suitable for cooking with cannabis. Olive oil, vegetable oil and grape-seed oil, are all excellent oils to use for infusing with cannabis.
** To make stronger infused oils, many people prefer to use hash or concentrates instead of cannabis buds and leaves. We will post a hash infused recipe in the near future.
*** Eating cannabis infused products is very different than smoking marijuana. The effects of eating marijuana infused products are felt differently from person to person. Please do not give cannabis infused products to someone not expecting them (this could cause panic attack and serious health risks). Do not drive or allow others to drive after eating cannabis infused products – ESPECIALLY if they are not used to them.
